As a Learning & Development Advisor with Carmarthenshire County Council I have known Rebecca in a business capacity through working together for over five years to co-ordinate First Aid Training for Carmarthenshire County Council via her company First Rate Training. I have always found Rebecca to be helpful and positive when dealing with what can be quite complex arrangements when trying to organise multiple training courses across a wide geographical area such is Carmarthenshire. We have also worked more closely to put together a range of bespoke training courses for schools and social care staff and her positive attitude, willingness to innovate, attention to detail and knowledge of her business ensured that we have always received training that met our very specific needs. Access Managed Services (Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council) work in close partnership with First Rate Training. As such, I have been able to use the First Aid training services of First Rate Training to train the Catering workforce. In particular I work closely with Rebecca Morris who is incredibly helpful and reliable. The feedback that I have received in relation to the trainers from my Catering & Cleaning Staff who have attended First Aid training has been excellent. In addition to their first aid courses, which are always excellent, they have also provided us with a health and safety course tailored to our office environment. Lee is a great trainer, keeps the audience interested and above all ensures that everyone leaves the course with an increased level of knowledge and confidence in the subject. I highly recommend First Rate Training, they have provided ABC Electrification with a package of bespoke first aid training courses. Having met with Justin Jones and Lee Peters and discussed our specific requirements based on the hazards presented by the rail industry, First Rate Training were able to develop modules of 3 hour duration covering topics such as the use of tourniquet, catastrophic bleeding, defibrillation to name but a few. The shorter than normal sessions meant that attendees were able to carry out the majority of their normal duties causing minimal disruption. Feedback from attendees was excellent: ‘My skills will be improved vastly’, ‘Lee excellent as always’ ‘I haven’t had tourniquet training before and feel this is essential when we work in isolated areas off road, where emergency services would take some time to respond’. I would also add that a great rapport was developed between the trainer (Lee Peters) and the first aiders, they felt able to ask questions throughout to enhance their knowledge of first aid.
