After many years of campaigning, we have news that lifesaving first aid is set to be included in the national school curriculum
With the view of this being in all schools in England by 2020, this exciting news could save thousands of lives.
Secondary schools will be taught how to administer CPR, along with basic treatment of common injuries. Whilst the plan for Primary Schools is to teach basic first aid offer advice on steps they can take to support and protect the health of others.
Findings have found that schools overseas that have been taught CPR show the cardiac survival rate more than double those of the UK!
The government also announced their plans that children are set to be taught how to build mental resilience, and how to recognise when their peers or family are struggling with mental issues.
At First Rate Training, we are thrilled to see the news of CPR being taught in schools and hope that this is the beginning of educating children on life saving skills.
